"More has been asked of all of us this year, and, for many, the “new normal” has created burnout. We cannot measure the price to pay in professional burnout exactly, but it’s absolutely real and apparent. Work has served as the source of solace for some, but, for others, it has become the only available substitute for previous diversions. And, under today’s conditions, work can be a struggle if we do not take steps to erect new swim lanes around how and when it begins and ends. I remain mindful of how “unprecedented” times often demand more from us. The prioritization of work must become secondary to the more pressing issue of mental health and well-being."
