In her first decade in London, Parkes had won three DMA Grand Prix, a Cannes Gold and numerous international awards. Following strategy posts at Craik Jones, Proximity and Lida/M&C Saatchi, Parkes founded her own agency, ColourPop Marketing, in 2016, delivering strategy and branding projects. But having always had “strategy” in her job title, Rapp tempted her back into the world of planning in 2018.
Fast-forward to 2022, and Rapp has won six DMA Golds – including four for campaigns that Parkes worked directly on in her role as chief experience officer. Parkes led the set-up of a diversity strategy practice at Rapp, which drives inclusive thinking for clients including the BBC and PayPal. She is also spearheading work around sustainability strategy, to measure and change the agency’s environmental impact. Now in the role of chief strategy officer at 600-strong Rapp, Parkes is at the helm of one of the largest agency strategy departments in the UK, with 50 strategists.
